How do I use the "Bank the Difference" Round Up program?

Once enrolled in the Bank the Difference program, use your Timberline Bank debit card for everyday purchases, such as groceries, coffee, or online shopping. Your purchase will be automatically rounded up to the next dollar, with the “spare change” being automatically transferred into your savings account. After enrolling, your cents truly turn into savings.

How do I enroll?

Stop into the bank or call your branch location to enroll. ​

What if my checking balance is getting low?

If your available balance is getting low, don’t worry. Our Bank the Difference round-up savings program won’t break the bank! The round-up program will never cause your account to go negative. If your round-up transfer does not have a compensating balance, transfers will pause until the account has enough funds to round-up.​

Can more than one account be rounded up into?​

No, only one account be connected at one time. 

When will I see round-ups applied to my savings account?

Round-ups through the Bank the Difference program only occur on business days. Don’t worry though! You can still round-up on the weekends and will simply see the funds added to your savings account on the next business day. ​

Is there a fee to enroll in the Bank the Difference program?​
Nope! Timberline Bank does not charge a fee for the Bank the Difference program. ​
Who is eligible for the Bank the Difference program?​
To participate in the Bank the Difference program, you’ll need a personal checking account with a debit card and a savings account.​
What transactions are rounded up?​
When enrolled in Timberline’s Bank the Difference program, any debit card transactions are rounded up. This includes online and in-person purchases. ​
